Anaikatty is a picturesque hill station in Tamil Nadu near the Kerala State border. So it is easily accessible from all major cities in South India including Bangalore, Mysore, Kochi, Calicut, Hyderabad, and more. Perched on the foothills of the Nilgiris on the Western Ghats, one can say that the relatively unspoiled and calm tourist spot is a sort of combination of Thekkady and an Ooty.

The very name Anaikatty brings to mind a herd of majestic Asiatic Elephants roaming free through the forests and grasslands here. One can expect a cool climate, streams, scenic vistas of endless hills stretching to the horizon, green grasslands and valleys, thick virgin forests teeming with wildlife, and of course one can enjoy the most enjoyable holidays staying at the Nirvana Holistic Living Resort where one has the option of rooms from suites to the dormitory. The conferencing and event facilities at the resort are so good that one would love to conduct their next corporate event or theme wedding here!

River of Happiness

If anyone asks anyone from the South which is the sweetest and purest natural water, they will unhesitatingly tell that it is the waters of the Siruvani Rivers. While one can stay at the resort, one can take a day trip to the banks of the river and see its majestic flow over the rocks. One can enjoy the beautiful sights of the river along a long stretch which one can capture on their cameras for posterity. One can picnic along the banks and hear the gurgles of the waters as it tells tales of its origin from the deep interiors of virgin forests, brushing through aromatic leaves and flowers as it gathers up in streams and joins the river. Nirvana Holistic can arrange transport on demand for a day trip to the river which is about 12 km away.

The densest forest

The Silent Valley Forest, which is part of the Silent Valley National Park, a protected area that is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere and part of the Western Ghats recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, hosts some of the densest evergreen forests in Asia and perhaps the world itself. Visitors are allowed entry to the park from the Sairandhiri (the name refers to Draupadi, wife of the Pandavas of the epic Mahabaratha) region. It is believed that the Pandavas resided in these deep forests, hiding in solitary exile. The beauty and harmony seen in nature mesmerized them and gave them protection. The deep woods, the lush green lands, and the opportunity to watch wild animals Elephants, Deer, Leopards, and even the occasional Tiger, in their natural habitat are truly wonderful. Nirvana Holistic Living Resort can make arrangements for our trip to this wonderful location.

Encounter with tigers

The Prambikulam Tiger Reserve is another biodiversity hotspot that one can easily visit while staying at Nirvana Holistic Living Resort. The reserve is spread across 390 km and consists of thick forests, natural streams, and ponds – serving teeming wildlife. The thrill and excitement of watching wild elephants, long tigers and herds of various types of deer, pairs of sloth bears, and a wide selection of over 250 species of birds including the Malabar Grey Hornbill, Laughing Thrush, Malabar Parakeet, and many as well as clumps of butterflies as they gather around certain trees in abundance. It is noticed that these forests sustain over 124 species of butterflies too.
